JOB DUTIES & QUALIFICATIONS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  1. Teaching students with various conditions, handicapped, high risk, and referred by regular classroom teachers………………………………………………50%
  2. Develop and implement individualized educational plan (IEP) for each student………………………………………………………………………10%
  3. Diagnose and evaluate students entering the program…………….………..10%
  4. Schedule IEP meeting with students, Special Education Coordinator, parents, school principal and regular classroom teacher………………………..…..10%
  5. Make lesson plans and instructional materials appropriate for handicapped and slow learner students………………………………………5%
  6. Mainstream students for peer level or to regular classroom………………….2%
  7. Supervise students while in school areas…………………………….2%
  8. Integrate handicapped students with appropriate age group in regular class activities/learning………………………………………2%
  9. Test and evaluate student progress, make progress report to parents and file student progress reports………………………………………2%
  10. Do quarterly reports to Special Education Office…………………………..2%
  11. Do other duties as assigned by supervisor…………………………….2%

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
 
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or education is required. The incumbent should have basic knowledge of teaching skills and classroom management and required specialized skills in content areas (Science, Math, etc.) plus child psychology training, work organization skills and the ability to independently develop children’s learning targets and implement programs to reach them. All applicants are required to submit a police clearance that is no more than three (3) months old from the date of issuance at the time of application submission.
